Pop-Up Blockers must be at least temporarily disabled in order to launch an online course. Or you can list the VU LearnCenter domain as a "Trusted Site" (http://bigivu.learn.com).

Course Navigation Back to Top
Online Course Navigation Overview
The current versions of the courses are divided into two separate modules, the Content Module and the Exam Module. The Exam Module does not become available to the user until after the Content Module has been completed. The online courses are designed to bookmark your progress. However, it does require proper navigation and exiting from the Course Player. Once the Course Player opens, users can go through the Chapters at their own pace. If a user should need to step away, users should click on the Blue “X” Exit Button at the bottom right corner, to properly exit the Course Player. That will close the Course Player window and bookmark course progress.

The Course Backdrop page will then be displayed. This page has an “Exit Course” button posted on it. Click the Exit Course button to ensure that the session has been properly closed and return to the main Table of Contents. Click on the Finished Button to go back to the Returning Students page. When a user logs back on again and visits the Returning Students page, the user can click on the title of the course to resume the course. The course will launch the completed Content Module at the main title page. The title of the course will have green check mark indicating completion. This is to give the user an opportunity to review the content once more. The user can then properly Exit the Content Module to return to the Table of Contents. There, the Content Module will be checked off indicating completion and the Final Exam link will then be available.
On the final page of the course is a Student Acknowledgement instructing students to go back to the "My State" page prior to accessing the Final Exam. What is the proper way to Exit the course to ensure that my progress has been saved?
Click for Image Step 1:
On the final page of the Content Module. A user can click either the next arrow to go back to the main title screen, or the user can click on the Course Menu button to review any previously viewed chapters or pages, or the user can click on the Exit Button to bookmark course progress and close the Course Player window. DO NOT close the browser window or click the red "X" at the top right corner of the window!
Click for Image Step 2:
Once a user has properly exited the Course Player window, the Course Backdrop page is displayed. Click the Exit Course button at the bottom of this page to properly close the current session and go to the main Table of Contents.
Click for Image Step 3:
If all of the pages of the Content Module have been successfully viewed, the course Table of Contents will display the Content Module as being completed, and a link to the Final Exam will then be made available. If a user does not wish to take the Exam at that time, the user can click on the Finished Button to go back to the Returning Students page. If the Content Module has not been checked off, the user may have inadvertently skipped a page or series of pages in a Chapter. Users can re-launch the Content Module, and view the Course Menu to see which Chapters have been completed, and which may have been skipped.
What if I exited the course after completing the content module? How would I resume later to take the exam?
Click for Image Step 1:
If a user has completed viewing all of the pages of the Content Module, but chooses to come back later to take the exam. When the user logs back onto the system and visit the Returning Students page, the course title will be listed under the “Your Courses in Progress” area with a completion percentage of (50%), (Please note, if the completion is not listed at (50%), user may have skipped pages within the Content Module). Click on the main title of the course to launch it again. The course will open back to the completed Content Module, this is by design.
Click for Image Step 2:
The completed Content Module will open with a green check mark next to the title to indicate that it has been completed. Because the user would be resuming from a previous attempt, the system is giving the user an opportunity to review the content material. But the user is not required to do so. The user can just properly exit the Course Player, to get back to the main Table of Contents. Click on the blue “X” Exit Button to properly exit the Course Player window and save progress. The user can then launch the Final Exam from the main Table of Contents.
How many times can I take the final exam?
Each user is allotted two initial attempts at an Exam. If the two attempts are exceeded, a page will be displayed to the user informing them that they have exhausted their two attempts, with a link to VU LearnCenter Support at (virtualuniversity@iiaba.net), where they can send request for a Third Exam Attempt which requires a $25.00 administrative fee.
What if I did not pass the exam on my first attempt? How can I review the course material before attempting the exam again?
Click for Image To go back through the Content Module, users should launch the course from the main title under the “Your Courses in Progress” area. Once at the Table of Contents menu, click on the “Cancel Button” to reset the overall course progress. On the next course launch, the user will be able to access the Content Module again. Once the user has completed viewing all the pages of the Content Module, the user can follow the previous steps to properly exit the Course Player window and access the Final Exam for a second attempt.
