The first half of the material is a simple summary of the key issues, offering an approach that focuses on effective methods of ethical decision making in everyday situations. One facet of this approach is a particular emphasis on clearly defining the differences, for purposes of this course, between "morality" and "ethics."

The second part of the class consists of a series of case studies. The case studies relate specifically to situations faced regularly by agents, underwriters, and claims adjusters. The intent is for each case to be realistic (each is based upon actual incidents), as well as to minimize moral issues.
